Ashley - the born politician
Last week Ashley wet her pants. Later that day, I asked her about it, "Ashley did you pee in your pants?" And she said, "No I didn't pee" then she took a long pause and finished "in THESE pants".
She's so funny and clever, you can't get a straight answer out of her. I have no idea where she learned to be like this. May be she'll be a politicial when she grows up :)

I just had to share this story here so that I don't forget.. because I've already forgotten others that were equally funny..

Spring is here!
First of all, Katelyn will be 9 months old in 2 days! I can't believe it's almost time to start planning her first birthday party! She's growing up so fast! She finally cut 3 teeth on top (both of the front ones and one next to it), she's got one other one that's almost out, but not yet..
She's learning so many things.. She's a super fast crawler now, cruises holding on to furniture, especially by the couch and has even made it up the whole flight of stairs (with me right behind her of course). She's not one to sit still and everything she finds she wants to put in her mouth.

On the other note, Spring is here :) And we certainly felt it - 70F degree weather all weekend, so we got to do quite a bit of yard work this weekend. Katelyn got to play on the grass for the first time. She was so curious as always, didn't want to stay on her blanket, crawled on the grass and of course tried to eat some as well!
She also went on her first wagon ride with Ashley! She sat like a big girl and Mike took them for our usual loop around the neighborhood.

Ashley thoroughly enjoyed the outside too :) She was a big helper in my garden, trying to help me pull weeds and rake the soil. She also had a blast with Liam and Emma. It's so cute to hear them have conversations, deciding what they are going to do and where to play. We are very lucky to have such great neighbors right next door!
Also, Ashley got to eat lunch outside at her little picnic table. Katelyn really wanted to join her. She kept trying to "swipe" Ashley's cup and food. It's cute to watch them interact. Katelyn wants to do everything Ashley does, and follows her around like her little tail. No one can make Katelyn laugh as hard as Ashley can :) Can't wait until Katelyn is a bit older so Ashley can enjoy Katelyn's company as much as she enjoys her's!

8 months - 3 teeth!
My little kitten Katelyn cut her third tooth on the bottom today!
All of her gums on top are extremely swollen so I wouldn't be surprised if she got even more teeth really soon.
I hope Katelyn's teeth are as beautiful as Ashley's! She's got beautiful pearly whites that she just loves to brush every chance she gets. Ashley loves her 'Dora goes to the Dentist' book and even got to visit with our dentist last summer for a quick checkup! May be she's be a dentist when she grows up :)

We signed up Ashley for MyGym
We tried out a free class, and she absolutely loved it! She raved about it all week and kept asking to go again. So, even though it's a little pricey we signed her up. She's still very excited to go every time. :)
Ashley has been able to do a forward roll since she was 1 1/2, and last year I taught her to do a bridge. To help her practice at home we put a "removable" pull up bar in the doorway to her room. She loves hanging and swinging there, the problem is that the the bar is not that easy to remove as it would seem. In fact we haven't been able to remove it since I put it up about 2 weeks ago.. so every time we go into her room we have to duck to walk in.. I hope we figure out how to remove it, because right now the ducking thing is just getting ridiculous..

Ashley sledding down our snow fort
Ashley has really been enjoying all the snow that we got this winter. We've taken her sledding down a big hill, built snowmen and made snow angels. However the coolest thing this winter was Mike building Ashley a snow fort. The snow fort in the videos below is the one Mike is most proud of. It was big enough for all of us to sit inside, and also doubled up as a slide! (There were several build this winter, they kept melting between the snow storms)
Katelyn standing up in her crib for the first time!
This is her new favorite thing to do.. She's always liked being upright, but now she want to do everything standing up :)
Katelyn crawling up the step from family room into the kitchen
It's hard to believe that she's only 8 months old! She does not want to sit still, trying to imitate Ashley!

February 24th - Katelyn 8 months milestones!
Today was Mike's 33 birthday and Katelyn turned 8 months old!
Many great things to celebrate.. we had a nice family dinner, followed by tiramisu for desert, Mike and Ashley blew out the candles on the cake, opened presents and watched Ashley and Katelyn being themselves :)
Katelyn is really getting to be a big girl she's reached so many milestones in such a short period of time that we are just overwelmed with excitement!
Yesterday she was doing the army crawl and today out of nowhere she decided she wants to crawl on all fours! She's so good at it as if she's been doing this for a while.. Pretty amazing! (She can also go from crawling to sitting position pretty easily!)
Also, today we spotted Katelyn's second tooth on the bottom! We know it's been bothering her for a while, so it's nice to see that it's finally out..
Also, this week we introduced Katelyn to rice krispy cereal. She got to practice picking up the bits of the cereal with her hand and feeding herself. Definitely a quick learner, she quickly figured out how to pick it up and get it in her mouth. I think she liked the taste. And it's a great way to keep her occupied!
From the first look of it, she appears to be a righty! Ashley showed signs of being a lefty very early on.. so we were curious to see if both of them would be the same.
I guess they won't be sharing softball mits, golf clubs or scissors..
I'll post the videos of Katelyn's accomplishments hopefully tomorrow.
