Tinton Falls Summer Rec Camp

This year, we signed Ashley up for the Tinton Falls Summer Recreation Camp to give her something to do in the summer other than hang around at home with her sister. It ran for five weeks from beginning of July, four days a week, from 8:30 – 1pm. Ashley had to bring snacks and lunch every day. Since we usually feed kids real food for lunch, finding food to bring for lunch wasn’t easy. We agreed on a cinnamon raisin toast with butter, along with some fruits. (Ashley can’t have peanut butter because it makes her itchy, and she’s not a fan of cold cuts.) She had the same toast EVERY day for 5 weeks and didn’t get tired of it!

They had to wear her green shirt every day (they gave us two, so we can wash them), which was interesting - the shirt was so large that it was like a dress on Ashley! Here’s a picture of her heading out the camp on the first day:

I can’t say enough good things about the program. Ashley, who’s not a morning person like her mommy and daddy, didn’t complain once about getting up early to go there! Every day they had a new theme and a new activities to do, they went to the Spray Ground, on a pirate ship, to gymnastics, on a Fun Bus, to the Movies, and other trips all in a five weeks time! Every day when we went to pick her up, she was happy to show off her hand-made crafts. It was an awesome program! When I asked her what her favorite theme was, she couldn’t decide on one, she loved them all! Can’t wait for her to do it again next year!
